Responsibilities
- Undertake Youth Leader training to ensure you’re equipped to do your best for Badgers and Cadets.
- Take Safeguarding seriously, looking out for the health and wellbeing of those in your Units.
- Lead either a Unit of Badgers or Cadets, following the youth programs provided by SJAC.
- Plan your terms effectively – you’ll find it easy to run your Units so long as you’ve looked ahead!
- Work with your team by asking for support from your local Managers and organising any Helpers in your Unit.
- Be reliable and know how to address unplanned absences.
What you’ll need
- Aged 18+
- Compassion to our young people and the other Leaders and Helpers you’re volunteering with.
- Enthusiasm about working with young people and wanting them to have positive and engaging experiences.
- Curiosity about first aid and how we can all support one another in our communities.
- Proactive approach to managing your own time.
Skills you will gain
- 3 Hour FAW Course.
- Safeguarding Group A and B Training.
- Introductory training to the St John Ambulance Cymru youth programs.
- Introductory training on working with young people.
- Experience running youth programs.
- Experience working with and leading young people.
- Experience working with and leading a team.
- Opportunity to undertake a level 2/3 in Youth Work with Adult Learning Wales.
- Opportunity to undertake further First Aid Training and qualifications in your local adult division.
