Are you looking to learn new skills, gain real work experience, and be part of a friendly team? The Barista placement at Depot Café is a hands-on training programme for young people aged between 16 and 25.
As a volunteer barista, you’ll learn how to make great coffee, serve food, take customer orders, and handle payments—all in a fun and supportive environment. You’ll also work as part of a team to keep the café clean and welcoming.
This opportunity is designed to boost your confidence, build your skills, and help you take the next step towards a job in hospitality or other industries. It comes with support from our resident Youth Support Workers, to help address any barriers or difficulties you might be facing. Plus, you’ll be making a positive impact in your community!

Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving cold and hot drinks
- Preparing and serving hot and cold food
- Cleaning and sanitising work areas, utensils and equipment
- Cleaning tables and seating areas
- Taking customer orders and conveying them to other team members for preparation
- Receiving and processing customer payments
